5 Reasons Why Samsung Photo Printers Won’t Sell Anymore

It’s hard to consider buying photo printers from Samsung anymore. When you think about buying photo printers, Samsung photo printers are just about the last printers you would want to look for and with good reason. Samsung has long since discontinued the production of their only two photo printers. Even now, not a lot of people would consider buying one because of a lot of reasons. Some of these reasons we will cover in this article.

They’re Outdated
The Samsung photo printers were initially released during 2005. Since then, there haven’t been any other releases aside from the SPP 2020 and SPP2040. Unfortunately, they have not been on production that long because other companies like Canon and HP came up with their own photo printers that were far better than Samsungs. If you buy Samsung photo printers now, that would mean that you would be purchasing from an almost five-year-old stock. Most consumer electronics have been rated to have a life expectancy of five years. That means it is nearing the end of its life. No one wants to buy something just to replace it the next year.

They Have No Batteries
Samsung photo printers are not equipped with batteries. Canon and HP have their own photo printers and almost all of them have batteries that allow them to print a number of pictures even when they are not plugged in. This is a major advantage when it comes to portability because you can use your photo printer wherever you are. On top of having on battery, the Samsung photo printers also use up a lot of power. Both printers are rated at 40 watts. Modern photo printers can operate on measly 8-watt power consumption.

They Have Lesser Input Capacities
Compared to modern photo printers from Canon and HP, the Samsung photo printers can only accommodate twenty sheets at a time. Printers from Canon and HP can hold around fifty sheets. This means you have lesser wear and tear with the modern photo printers. It also means an additional wear and tear for the Samsung printers on top of them being old already. Not a very healthy combination.

They Cost a Lot For Less
If we consider the original retail price for this printer that is at 110 USD, no one in their right mind will buy them anymore because for the same price, you can get the same features plus more with other printer models. Heck, you can even get more for less. Better models from Canon are sold for only 99 USD and these are all brand new. Even at this price, you get the additional wireless capability and the memory card support for various card types like SD Card down to the Memory Stick.

This is not to say that Samsung photo printers won’t sell anymore. Actually, they still do but you would have to drag the price so low before anyone would consider buying them.
