An a3 Inkjet Printer That Offers Superb Value

There are many a3 inkjet printers that are great buys. The market is swamped with inkjets, high end to budget models. Although the choice with a3 printers is not as vast, you can find a lot of value for money. Value would be determined by cost against need. Avoiding paying for function you don’t require means better value for you.

HP

Hewlett Packard has masses of choices when it comes to affordable A3 Inkjet printers. For as little as around $130, the HP Officejet 7000 Wide Format Printer is tremendous value on Amazon, as the retail value is $200 . It prints from 3.5 x 5 inches up to 13 x 19 inches with borderless printing and a fast printing speed of 33ppm black and 32ppm color.

HP claims that you pay 40% less per page than with laser printers when using HP Officejet inks. The resolution is high also considering the price being up to 1200 dpi black and an impressive 4800 x 1200 dpi color.

Another offering from HP in their A3 inkjet printer range is the HP K8600 Office Jet Pro Color Printer which is now discontinued by HP but still can be found for around $235. It prints up to A3+ (13 x 19 inches), has a resolution of 1200 dpi on black print and 4800 x 1200 dpi optimized on HP Premium Plus photo papers with 1200 x 1200 input dpi.

Canon

Canon has the Canon Pixma iX6520 Inkjet Printer available on Amazon at a very fair price of around $130. It prints sizes from 4″ x 6″ to 13″ x 19″. The quality of this model is spectacular considering the price it can be obtained for as it has a high resolution that characterizes Canon 9600 x 2400 dpi on color prints and 600 x 600 dpi on black.

It will turn out a 4”x 6” color borderless photo in approximately 36 seconds. It also features Auto Photo Fix II making it easy to enhance photos and has as many as 4,608 print head nozzles of which 4,096 are color and 512 black and a Picoliter Size: 1, 2 and 5. It also has a 150 sheet tray output auto sheet feeder and is a fairly compact size of 11.8″(L) x 21.7″(W) x 6.3″(H).

Epson

A popular choice from Epson is the Epson WorkForce 1100 Color Inkjet Wide Format Printer made to be fast and efficient at 30ppm black print speed and 17ppm color in draft mode and for the better quality prints 13ppm black and 5.5ppm color. They give you prints that are smudge and fade free as well as being water resistant.

You can produce everyday projects, brochures and spreadsheets up to 13″ x 19″. It has a 100 sheet input tray with a very impressive 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi resolution. It has 2 Black ink cartridges which will double the time between needing to replace them leaving you free to carry on printing longer.

Again like the other models mention, this is superb value with a lot of function and ability at a very reasonable $160 on Amazon. As A3 printers go this is fairly compact with dimensions of 18.2 x 27.8 x 12.5 inches.

Further Epson offerings include the more expensive but high quality Epson Stylus R2000 Wide-Format Wireless Inkjet Printer which is around $500 but for that price you get Epson Ultra Chrome Hi-Gloss 2 pigment ink and larger ink cartridges which gives you longer uninterrupted printing.

It can accommodate cut-sheet and roll paper in sizes up to 13″ wide giving you a smooth, glossy finish.
It has a high resolution of 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi and with the smallest droplet size of 1.5 picoliters; which can produce up to three different droplet sizes per print line. You are getting excellent quality with this model for $500.

American V European A3 Size

Of course if you’re an American buyer you may be asking yourself what the hell is all this talk about A3 as it is not a commonly used size in the USA. A3 is more a European size of 16.5 x 11.7 in where as Americans tend to be more familiar with Ledger size 11″ x 17″.

The Big 3 for Value

It would appear that for A3 size printers the big 3 of Epson, Canon and HP have the most choices. Manufacturers like Xerox and Oki are not so easily available on sites such as Amazon and seem more focused on Laser jet printers in wide format. Other manufacturers seem to be lacking in their a3 printer range.

Plenty of Good Value

Without looking hard on sites such as Amazon the above mentioned printers was easily found and all affordable and good value for money. Many of them boast good economy on inks and are energy star qualified. Compared to laser printers A3 inkjet printers are more available and more affordable and ideal choices for small and sometimes even medium sized businesses.

There is superb value around but when it comes to A3 inkjet printers, yet it seems the only real contenders are Epson, Canon and Hp for high quality yet affordable A3 sized printers.
