Do you find it difficult looking for A4 size paper? If you are in North America, including US, Canada and some parts of Mexico, this may prove to be true as the most commonly used paper sizes in the region are the US paper sizes. It is only in these areas of the first world that do not use the ISO 216 Standard paper sizes. Instead, they use the Letter (8.5” x 11”), Legal (8.5” x 14”), Executive (5” x 8”) and Ledger/Tabloid (11” x 17”) paper sizes.
On that premise, it could be a difficult task to search for the availability of A4 size paper in the US. However, researching through the various printer and paper manufacturers in the US, we have found out that they do have A4 paper products in the US market. But since these are not commonly used, the availability could be quite limited.
Fear not though, as through Epson and Amazon, we were able to find A4 paper available, depending on your requirement.
The three A4 Printer Paper Packages I’ll be going over are the Epson 100-Sheet A4 High Quality for Ink Jets, the 20-Sheet 8.3 x 11.7 A4 Photo Paper, and the Epson Photo Quality Glossy Paper in A4 size.
Epson 100-Sheet A4 High Quality for Ink Jets
The Epson 100-Sheet A4 High Quality Paper for Ink Jets is a white, coated paper that produces deep, sharp text and colors, which is ideal for everyday high-resolution color printing. This paper is best suited for spreadsheets, charts, reports, medium resolution photos, handouts, color reproductions, and almost any type of presentation.
This Ink Jet Paper is acid-free that is highly recommended for scrapbook pages; and has a smooth matte coating that is ideal for dark text and colorful graphics.
Its paper weight is 24 lb, or 95 gsm (preferred by professionals like accountants and lawyers for formal business correspondence), has a thickness of 4.7 mil, and ISO brightness set at grade 89. Its surface is of matte finish with opacity of 92%. It is compatible with most ink jet printers.

This paper is best suited for those in search of high quality photo paper. It’s also bright white with a matte finish. In addition to that, it’s acid free.
It’s capable of handling detailed graphics, but is more for everyday use, even though it’s advertised as best for reports, graphs, handouts, and color reproductions. If you’re looking for the best performance possible, then it should be used at resolution of 720 dots per inch. The dimensions for a package of this paper will be 8.7 x 12.6 x 0.4 inches and it will weigh 2.5 lbs. On Amazon, this item is available for shipping to select countries other than the United States.
Epson Photo Quality Glossy Paper
A final option is the Epson Photo Quality Glossy Paper in A4 size. It comes in 20 sheets a pack. This paper is bright white, glossy coated paper and has medium weight of 38 lb. (or 141 gsm). Excellent for colorful flyers, reports, photo reproductions, photo proofs and contact sheets.
It has soft gloss finish that produces photo quality images, a quick dry surface that you don’t need to wait for it to dry after printing, and its bright whiteness produces razor sharp text and colors. All these features help create outstanding photo quality images that deliver brilliant presentations.
It has a thickness of 6.7 mil, with an ISO brightness grade of 90, and opacity of 92%. This paper also comes in the following sizes: 8 x 11 inches (letter), 13 x 19 inches, 16.5 x 23.4 inches, and 17 x 22 inches.
Currently unavailable at Amazon but you need to watch for it regularly as the site keeps updating its products and it is highly likely that in just a day or two, this item will again come up as available. You may also check the Epson site where it sells for around $12 a pack.
In a Nutshell
As you can probably already see, none of these are bad options. It does not mean though that you may chance upon the not so good options in the market. The purpose of this article is not to get you to choose any one of these types of paper over the other; it is to lead you to three very good A4 printer paper options in order that you don’t end up buying lesser quality.
