Brother have made multi function printers there specialty. They have focused a lot of energy on producing multi function printers at an affordable price making them possibly the best value for money manufacturers in this field.

Brother is a leader in multi function laser printers and its worth taking a look at some of their other offerings. On their present offerings they offer affordability with the Brother MFC-7220 Laser Multifunction Printer.
Available for less than $200 this is designed for the small business user and is not a world beater but has a fairly good standard for a laser multi function printer especially within this price range. It can print, scan, copy, fax and PC fax.
The paper tray can hold 250 sheets with modest print speed of 20 ppm and resolution of 1200 x 600 dpi which is adequate for most small business needs if not overly impressive. But this printer is designed for affordability and would fit the purpose of many.
Brother DCP-7060D
Moving up the standard this model offers automatic duplexing and can print and copy at 24 ppm and resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi which again is not phenomenal but perfectly good enough for most small business users. With this model you have no fax but can print scan and copy.
Brother Printer DCP7065DN
This is a Monochrome Laser Multi-Function Copier with Duplex and Networking with a print speed of 27 ppm and automatic duplexing. The Brother Printer DCP7065DN can be found online for around $150.
Brother Printer DCP-8080DN
This is another monochrome printer, again without a fax. This model comes with auto duplexing and a lively print speed of 32 ppm with resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. It can scan legal size documents which is essential for many as well as 250 sheet input tray.
The copier is a flatbed with a 50 page auto feed and can do stand alone copying without the use of a PC.
It’s available from Brother at $350 but the Brother DCP-8080dn Digital Copier and Laser Printer can be found cheaper on Amazon for around $280.
Brother Printer DCP-8085DN
Another monochrome offering has no fax but can print, scan and copy. It can print and scan at 32 ppm/cpm and print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. All very similar with a 250 sheet input tray. The monthly duty cycle is a generous 30,000 printed pages and has full duplex capability and networked. The Brother DCP-8085dn Digital Copier and Laser Printer is priced online for about $350.
All these laser printers are made to be affordable. Brother is the first place to look for printers in this field. If you desire the best quality for more money than this is not the brand for you.
There seems to be little logic in hunting down discontinued brother printers when they have a price range this low. You are unlikely to make any significant saving. All more than competent and purpose made printers from Brother that will not disappointment.
