Features

The 3360C can print, scan, copy and fax. As far as speed goes, it can print up to 25 pages per minute on black and 20 pages per minute on color. Resolution can reach as high as 6000 x 1200 dots per inch. Ink droplets will be as small as 1.5 picoliters. The print speed stats are quite average and the print quality stats are slightly above average. There is a 20-sheet automatic document feeder, which is below the standard 35-sheet ADF. Then again, you’re paying a lot less money for this model.

The fax runs through a 33.6Kbps modem, which qualifies it for high-speed status. The fax also has 110-station auto dialing and 16 MB memory. The latter will allow you to store up to 200 pages. A computer is not required to operate the fax. That is also the case with the copier. The copier can produce 18 pages per minute on black and 16 pages per minute on color. This is a little below average. The quality and features of the copier, however, are in-line with other models. For instance, resolution for copies can reach 1200 x 600 dpi, multi-copying maxes out at 99 copies, and you can enlarge and reduce image sizes from 25% to 400%.

The scanner can reach interpolated resolution up to 19,200 dpi and optical resolution up to 600 x 2400 dpi. As with most Brother models, the scanning software is easy to install, understand, and use. Another general feature for the Brother MFC 3360C is the front load paper tray, which can hold up to 100 sheets. Borderless printing is also possible.

Reviews

Brother MFC 3360CAll electronic devices have positives and negatives. The Brother MFC 3360C, measuring 16.1″ W x 19.3″ D x 12.8″ H, and weighing 13.2 lbs., have a few negatives. The first negative is that only 44% of customers have been more than satisfied with it. This is often seen with cheaper models. The majority of customers expect all the features, quality and speed of models that sell for twice the price. If you’re going to consider the 3360C, base your expectations on the price you pay.

If you want to spend a little more money and get a more advanced model, consider the 885CW or 7440N. For now, let’s get back to the 3360C. The number one problem with this printer is the quality of the photo prints. If you’re looking for high quality photo prints, this is not the printer you would like to go for as it is not made for state of the art photo printing. I would suggest going with a Canon model if high quality photo printing is what you’re after. But if you want the basics including casual photo printing with good value, the Brother MFC 3360C offers more than its fair share.

Just one other negative is that the paper tray design leads to some paper jams. However, this can easily be solved by not putting too much paper on the tray.

Based on customer feedback on Amazon, about half the people who reviewed it were not completely satisfied with its printing function from paper feeding to high ink consumption, which are the common complaints. The paper tray as already mentioned can be problematic, as when you leave paper to feed automatically on the tray, jams occur. Therefore, the tendency is you spend more time feeding individually and watching it so as to avoid causing a jam. Avoid filling the paper tray too much and too thick a paper to help avoid this problem.

However, the other half were quite content with the other functions – scan, copy and fax. The scanner is effective with the multi-page feeding like most if not better than other dedicated sheet feeding scanners. The standalone copier and fax had been given high marks as well.

The Brother MFC 3360C is a good option for the home or a small office with low volume requirements that can be served well with its four basic functions of printing, scanning, copying and faxing – pretty much good value for an all-in-one machine.
