Stand-By Uses Power
If you are not using your printer then simply make sure that the power is not left on standby. Even when on your electricity supply and not running from the battery, this is advisable as it also uses electricity which you don’t need to be burning.
Draft Mode for More Prints
The Canon iP100 will deliver you around 500 pages from a fully charged battery when used in draft mode. So the simple moral of this tale is to use draft printing in all cases other than when it has to be the very best quality.
Using best print mode will not deliver you anything like 500 pages with a fully charged battery and not only that, it will also use your ink all the quicker.
Having a Spare Battery
Having an additional battery will actually help you preserve your battery life. You are far less likely to be in a pressure situation where as you feel the need to recharge your battery when not fully discharged.

Using their product, you will bring out the best in your photographs.
Take precautions to maximize the life of your battery. The use of a spare could be extremely helpful and prevent you getting caught out.
