The Canon Pixma 800r at first sold for around $400, but you can now find it for as low as $200. While that might still seem a little expensive for some, it’s a great bargain. If you’re like most people, you want quality and speed more than anything else.
As far as speed goes, the Canon Pixma 800r prints up to 30 pages per minute for black and 24 pages per minute for color. If you’re not aware of what those numbers mean, that’s extremely fast. It can also print a 4 x 6 borderless photo in 36 seconds, which is toward the top of the industry standard. As far as quality goes, this printer features a Canon FINE print head, which means it reaches up to 9600dpi with 1 picoliter ink droplets. In English, it means you’re getting extremely high print quality. This has a lot to do with why the price is higher than most. In addition to the Canon FINE print head, it scans documents at 2400 x 4800dpi. There is also ScanGear feature, which can spot defects from dust and scratches, and then remove them. To sum it all up, the speed and quality are excellent.
There are a few negatives with the Canon Pixma 800r. One negative is its size. It weighs almost 36 pounds and is bulky. If you have one specific place you’re always going to keep it, this shouldn’t be an issue. Another negative is that some people have complained about the wireless connection.
