When it comes to printers, Canon is one of the market leaders. This is especially the case with photo printers. If you think of photos and a company that has delivered quality for decades, you’re most likely going to think of Canon.
They have several different lines of printers, as well as numerous models. In this case, we will be reviewing the Canon Pixma mp210. It is a Printer, Scanner and Copier that can also offer quality photo prints and a lot of convenience.
Users’ Views
This model has many reviews written about this model from users, and it earned a score of 3 out of 5. With that many reviews, we know the score means something. We also know that a score of 3 out of 5 isn’t something that excites people.
It is hard to gauge sometimes when a printer, scanner copier like this receives top marks from the majority, yet many give it the lowest rating with little in the middle. It’s like they rather love it or hates it and that kind of reaction is difficult to comprehend. How can it be so wonderful for some yet another group find it to be terrible.

Often the negative reviews are from people that don’t always know what they are doing and ask too much of their machine and based on high expectation they always feel disappointment. It does not always suggest it is the fault of the printer but of the user. Some reviewers are overly critical expecting standards that the unit was not designed or priced for.
It’s an easy to use easy set up all in one printer and the reviews don’t have any consistent complaint apart from the most common complaint with all printers, high ink consumption. Most expressed they especially like the color photo quality.
The biggest negative that seems to happen on many machines is that the paper feed will begin pulling to the right after a while. This can be a difficult fix. For some reason, this does not happen with the Canon Pixma MP190 All-In-One Photo Printer, so this could suggest an error in this model’s design.
Changing tasks can be somewhat complicated. Once again, none of these are issues with Canon Pixma mp190. That said, there are still dozens of people who have been very happy with this model. Maybe you would be one of them.
Features
Not dissimilar to the more expensive Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One Photo Printer this model uses canons FINE technology with a resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. The print head nozzles will eject ink droplets as small as two picoliters, which will lead to good detail.
The speed is ok on prints and copies at 22ppm black and 17ppm color. It has a maximum document size of 8.5’’ x 11.7’’. The scan resolution is Optical 600 x 1200 dpi Interpolated 19,200 x 19,200 dpi and it is the contact image sensor type. The copy speed matches the print speed and is equipped with an automatic sheet feeder.
Far from too bulky with dimensions of 17.7″ L x 13.9″ W x 6.7″ H and weighing a fairly light 12.8 lbs. When it comes to quality, the mp210 is pretty good. It’s better than the standard printer, but probably doesn’t hold up to many other Canon models.
Something to keep in mind is that if you use Canon ink and Canon photo paper, your photo print will have the potential to last up to 100 years. This model also has Dual Color Gamut Processing Technology. This means that when you make a copy, everything will be automatically optimized to match the original in all facets.
Speed and convenience are also important for a printer. The Canon Pixma mp210 can print a 4 x 6 borderless photo in 46 seconds. This is about average. For scans, you will have a USB 2.0 interface, guaranteeing the fastest image transfers possible.
This model also comes with Quick Start. Your printer will start in seconds, not minutes. As far as convenience goes, the mp210 is PictBridge compatible, so you will be able to print directly from many digital cameras and DV camcorders. It also has a Z-Lid, meaning you can scan thick documents that are unable to lie flat.
Upgrade
This model has since been superseded by the Canon PIXMA MP240 All-In-One Photo Printer which is available for around $130. The Canon Pixma MP210 Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printer is available for $115.
You will have to look far to find better value for an All in one than this. It is certainly not for business use but great as a home printer. Maybe lacking some of the features of other all in ones but Canon designed it with the budget conscious in mind so some things are left out. Duplex would be nice but what do you expect in this price range. A good little all in one printer for the money.
