No brand tries to make a bad printer but there are times when problems establish themselves with certain types of models. There is one good way to narrow it down, though. That’s to stick with a specific brand name that has a reputation for consistency and reliability. Canon is obviously a high quality choice. They are a customer favorite and require the least repair work.

Canon Pixma MP560, which is an extraordinarily popular printer.
The Canon PIXMA MP560 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Photo Printer sells for around $168 on Amazon. In reviews it comes out very well indeed with a very high approval rating. It’s an inkjet all-in-one, wireless printer with a 2.0-inch LCD display. Using the LCD display, you can select your photos, then preview, enhance, and print.

You will be printing high quality photos with resolution up to 9600 x 2400 color dpi. This model contains a 5-color ink system, including four ink-based inks and one dye-based ink. That system, combined with Canon’s FINE technology equals superior quality that won’t ever fade, smudge and have realistic beautiful and striking color.
If you use select Canon photo paper and store your photo in the proper manner, photo prints from this model can last up to 300 years. Quality is obviously not an issue. Let’s look at some other features. When it comes to speed, the Pixma MP560 is way ahead of the pack; that includes other Canon models.
It can print a borderless photo in 39 seconds. You will also have two-sided printing, which will save time, money and paper. In addition to that, this model comes with Auto Photo Fix II. Therefore, there’s no need to manually enhance photos if you don’t want to.
All images will be automatically enhanced for you. If you’re looking for convenience, you will be able to print in a variety of ways, including from your PC, with a memory card, from a USB flash memory drive, and directly from any digital camera or DV camcorder that is PictBridge compatible. This model is also Bluetooth compatible.
For copies, you will be receiving Dual Color Gamut Processing Technology. This means all copies will be very true to their original form. For scanning, you will have Auto Scan Mode. This means there will be original document recognition. In other words, the scan will have the same features as the original.
As far as negatives go for the Canon Pixma MP560, they’re extremely difficult to find. In this case, Canon seems to have built the near perfect machine. The only real complaint was that it’s a little bulky. If that’s the biggest negative then you’re looking at a true winner as far as printers go.
Inks for this model are available separately or in a triple pack including 3 colors and black cartridges Canon CLI-221 4-Color Value Pack (Black/Cyan/Magenta/Yellow) in Retail Packaging at a very reasonable $37 (prices vary).

However, time moves on and Canon later brought out the Canon PIXMA MG5220 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-in-One. It possesses all the features of the MP560 plus a little more like HD Movie Print software so you can capture your favorite movie clips with your compatible Canon EOS Digital SLR.
Another development over the older model is that it has a 5-ink cartridge system. Like the MP560, it has built-in 2-sided printing and the same high resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi. Another improvement is that it will produce a borderless 4” x 6” borderless print as quickly as 20 seconds.
You can print wirelessly using a compatible iPod touch, iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPad models. Quite a few improvements there and the best improvement of all is that you can find this model online at under $90. For an all in one and a good one at that, with speed and high resolution, I think it’s safe to say you are getting an absolute bargain at that price.
The 5-ink cartridge system is widely available with the 4 colors Canon PGI-225 BK/ CLI-226 C,M,Y 4 Pack Value Pack costing around $45 and the black ink tank Canon CLI-226 Black Ink Tank in Retail Packaging for around $14.
As is always the case, you will obtain better 4” x 6” photos if you stick with recommended Canon photo paper, like the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, 5 x 7 Inches, 20 Sheets at just over $7 or the extra even better quality of Canon Photo Plus Glossy II photo paper at just over $13.
The MG5220 has many improvements on the popular MP560 and at half the price; it speaks for itself that this may go on to be an even more popular all in one printer than its predecessor.
