It’s hard to consider buying photo printers from Samsung anymore. When you think about buying photo printers, Samsung photo printers are just about the last printers you would want to look for and with good reason. Samsung has long since discontinued the production of their only two photo printers. Even now, not a lot of people would consider buying one because of a lot of reasons. Some of these reasons we will cover in this article.

They’re Outdated
The Samsung photo printers were initially released during 2005. Since then, there haven’t been any other releases aside from the SPP 2020 and SPP2040. Unfortunately, they have not been on production that long because other companies like Canon and HP came up with their own photo printers that were far better than Samsungs. If you buy Samsung photo printers now, that would mean that you would be purchasing from an almost five-year-old stock. Most consumer electronics have been rated to have a life expectancy of five years. That means it is nearing the end of its life. No one wants to buy something just to replace it the next year.

They Have No Batteries
Samsung photo printers are not equipped with batteries. Canon and HP have their own photo printers and almost all of them have batteries that allow them to print a number of pictures even when they are not plugged in. This is a major advantage when it comes to portability because you can use your photo printer wherever you are. On top of having on battery, the Samsung photo printers also use up a lot of power. Both printers are rated at 40 watts. Modern photo printers can operate on measly 8-watt power consumption.

They Have Lesser Input Capacities
Compared to modern photo printers from Canon and HP, the Samsung photo printers can only accommodate twenty sheets at a time. Printers from Canon and HP can hold around fifty sheets. This means you have lesser wear and tear with the modern photo printers. It also means an additional wear and tear for the Samsung printers on top of them being old already. Not a very healthy combination.

They Cost a Lot For Less
If we consider the original retail price for this printer that is at 110 USD, no one in their right mind will buy them anymore because for the same price, you can get the same features plus more with other printer models. Heck, you can even get more for less. Better models from Canon are sold for only 99 USD and these are all brand new. Even at this price, you get the additional wireless capability and the memory card support for various card types like SD Card down to the Memory Stick.

This is not to say that Samsung photo printers won’t sell anymore. Actually, they still do but you would have to drag the price so low before anyone would consider buying them.

Samsung, along with other companies, pride themselves of providing electronic goods that are innovative. In 2005, they introduced two Samsung photo printers, the SPP 2020 and SPP 2040 that are very compact photo printers. They weigh less than a pound each. Being printers ahead of their time by employing dye-sublimation techniques, you would expect to find them in production to this day. Unfortunately, Samsung has discontinued both printers. In this article, we will discuss why this is so.

The printer industry is a cutthroat business. Various printer companies continue to come up with printers that can top their competitor’s latest model. Though the Samsung photo printers were pretty decent in their own respect, Canon and HP easily overran them with their own set of photo printers. Canon and HP’s printers also utilize the dye-sublimation technology. You may ask, why discontinue them when they are about the same. They’re almost of the same weight and the same technology. However, there was one aspect where they differed where it mattered most when it came to portability.

Batteries. The Samsung Photo printers had to be plugged in all the time. Unlike Canon and HP’s photo printers that can print even without being plugged, the Samsung photo printers had to be plugged in order to be used. In terms of portability, this is a major drawback. People invest in portable gadgets in order to conveniently take them anywhere and use them at the same time. If you have to plug it in each time you use it, it’s no different from a desktop printer.

Memory Cards. The photo printers from Samsung do not have memory card capabilities unlike the printers from HP and Canon. The printers from HP and Canon support almost every popular memory card type from SD Card to Memory Stick from Sony. The Samsung printer also has the USB capability to support PictBridge but Canon and HP has it as well.

Wireless Options. This feature is almost next to requirement when it comes to portable gadget. If you buy a mobile device such as a phone or PDA, it most likely has at least one wireless feature, be it Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, photo printers from Samsung do not support this feature. If consumers had to choose between two printers of good brands, having the same price and one with more features, don’t expect the former to be sold.

It was a wise decision for Samsung to discontinue their photo printers. The photo printers of their competitors certainly had a lot more to offer compared to their photo printers. Discontinuing the production of their printers allowed them to cut their losses. They are fortunate enough if someone still decides to buy their printers despite the existence of their competitors. However, that scenario is highly unlikely. It will be better for them to create another photo printer, one that will surely stand against the rest of the photo printers today.

Samsung may have the edge when it comes to audio video products. However, when it comes to photo printers, it is a very different story. We can’t just say that Samsung is better than Canon unless we can prove it. In order to substantiate this claim, let us compare the Samsung photo printers with Canon’s Selphy series. We’ve put down a list of criteria wherein we will be comparing the SPP 2040 from Samsung and the Selphy ES40 from Canon. Both, according to their promotions, are portable photo printers.

Speed and Quality
Let us go first with the primary characteristics of a printer. When looking at printers, this is the most important parameter to look into because this dictates whether or not your printer can make realistic pictures or not. Both printers use the dye-sublimation printing process that provides them with almost unlimited color. Both operate at 300dpi resolutions. However, Canon leads a bit in terms of speed since it can provide 6×4 pictures in 55 seconds whereas Samsung does so in 60 seconds. This is hardly a thing to fuss about.

Input Capacity
Unfortunately, the Canon photo printers are far better compared to the Samsung photo printers since they can accommodate more than twice the capacity of the latter. With an input capacity of 50 sheets, you can expect the least wear and tear since you don’t have to open and close your printer as often. Plus, the additional 30 sheets will certainly come in handy especially those times when you’re sharing pictures with loved ones.

Battery Life
Canon leads this parameter by default since the Samsung printer does not have an internal battery of its own. It has to rely on external power supply in order to operate. The additional feature of a battery makes the Canon printer more versatile and flexible in a sense that you can use it practically anywhere, be it in a beach or in the woods. Though it is hard to imagine why one would need a photo printer in the woods, it is still an advantage that other may find very useful.

LCD Panel
Canon leads a lot in this aspect since the ES40 has a 3.5” LCD panel. The SPP 2040 also has its own LCD panel but it is only a 2” LCD panel. Pictures are a lot clearer if the panels are bigger so you don’t run the risk of a reprint in case you missed out a few details during preview.

Other Features
Most printers’ deciding points are usually the additives. On top of the most basic expectations in terms of speed and resolution, some consumers consider the additional features that come with the gadget that can be used to their advantage. The Canon printer is able to support multiple types of memory cards whereas the Samsung printer does not. On top of that, it also has wireless capabilities that support PC-less printing. In the case of the Samsung printer, there is a Bluetooth option but you can only avail it for an additional price.

If this were a match, it would have been one by knockout in favor of Canon.

Let us give Samsung a little credit. They are one of the top brands when it comes to consumer electronics. Their products range from computers related products to TV and video to phones and other living appliances. They certainly made a name for themselves in the electronics department. Unfortunately, when it comes to photo printing, they are a little off in that department. In 2005, Samsung unleashed two of their Samsung photo printers and stopped shortly after having sent them out in the market. They may have produced other printers after that, but they stopped producing photo printers.

The size of the Samsung photo printers are made for maximum portability. Their dimensions are no more than 2.4″ x 7.1″ x 5.4″ and they do not weigh more than 3lbs. In all physical features, it is without a doubt portable. Unfortunately, the word portable cannot be tagged to just any device anymore. You cannot say something is portable unless you can carry and use them at the same time. This means you need to have an internal battery in order to qualify as a portable device. The Samsung photo printers do not have such batteries so they are as good as paperweight when you have no access to electricity.

We are not saying that you should not buy Samsung photo printers because they are bad. They are not. In fact, they actually deliver in what they promise which is a photo printer in one small package. Unfortunately, they are not the only printers that boast of the same thing. Some printers from Canon and HP boast of the same quality with a small gadget and more. That is the keyword there – more. For a fixed price, consumers will buy the photo printer that can deliver more than just printing photos.

The capacity of the Samsung printers is only at 20 sheets whereas other models from Canon and HP can go as high as 50 plus pages. All of them are around the same size and weight. However, aside from the additional capacity, they have other features that make them very useful. Such features include wireless connectivity. Today, majority of mobile gadgets such as PDA, laptops and mobile phones are equipped with at least one type of wireless capability, which can interface with other gadgets.

On top of the additional wireless feature in other recent photo printers, the printers from Samsung do not have memory card features. This feature is very important especially for those who want to utilize photo printers with cameras that do not support PictBridge features. There is no other way to do PC-less printing aside from using the memory cards.

Let us face it. The photo printers from Samsung may have been ahead of its time when they were made. However, this generation’s breed of photo printers is on a completely different level. Features like wireless connectivity, PC-less printing, LCD panels, are already considered prerequisites. Today, you cannot just release printers that have features less than these. It is bound to be overrun by the printers from Canon and HP.

It’s amazing how science has made it convenient for everyone. Even having a printer to carry around is now possible with the existence of portable printers. However, you don’t just choose the first portable computer printer you see on the rack. You have to go for the best of the best. At a retail price of $250, you can get the best mobile printer.

We can’t just go saying that the Canon Pixma iP100 is the best portable computer printer without the features to back it up. To start with, let’s check the resolution of this printer. This mobile printer boasts the highest resolution for mobile printers. It can generate resolutions up to 9600 x 2400 dots per inch. This resolution is more than enough to create photos and graphics of high quality and realism.

Aside from the high-resolution printing, it wouldn’t do well if it can print at high resolutions yet perform at a snail’s pace. This printer can print up to 20 pages per minute in monochrome and 14ppm in color. This speed is enough to keep up with you and your work as you travel back and forth.

While other printers can be carried because of their size, they still have to be connected to outlets in order to work. However, this printer is capable of printing despite being unplugged because of its internal battery. This is the third reason why this is the best printer. Just like mobile phones, they are equipped with internal batteries that can let you use them for hours. In the case of the Canon mobile printer, it can continue printing for 290 pages before running out of steam.

If you’re a fond of taking pictures while on the road, then having an image fix feature will be another reason why this printer is the best. Even if you’re not hooked to a computer, you can print pictures straight from your cameras or mobile phones. Sharing pictures will be very easy since this printer is equipped with multiple interfaces that can accept printing tasks via Bluetooth or USB. The image fix feature automatically fixes the image for best performance. However, it would have helped if they had an LCD panel, which you could look through before printing. That may be a very useful feature but there is no printer with an LCD yet that came close to this printer in terms of performance.

Did we mention that this printer only weighs 4.4 pounds? And it is no larger than an average laptop. This is one of the main reasons why you should get this printer. Its size is so small that you can easily fit it into your backpack or suitcase for easy traveling. It even comes with an adaptor so you can recharge its battery while you’re driving in your car.

Right now, you should be considering getting one of these printers because Canon surely put a lot of effort into making the Canon Pixma iP100 the best mobile printer.

In order to be successful in certain professions, you need to be equipped with the tools of the trade. With the development of portable gadgets, there are gadgets that can be qualified as tools that are recently added to certain trades. If you’re a salesman who’s frequently on the road, you may need a portable computer printer in order to be effective in your trade. However, you don’t just need any portable printer. You need the HP OfficeJet H470. In this article, we will enumerate five reasons why it is a must for you to get an HP OfficeJet H470 if you’re a salesman.

First, this portable computer printer is light and only weighs less than five pounds. Its design is sleek so you can fit it in your suitcase that you usually use in your travels. If you’re using a backpack, it fits just as well.

Second reason is that it can print up to a resolution of 4800 x 1200 dots per inch. This resolution is sufficient for you to create materials that you will need in your presentations. Submitting reports will also not be a problem because most reports are composed only of texts. However, the additional resolution will somehow be useful in rare cases where picture quality is a must.

The third reason why every salesman should get the HP OfficeJet H470 is because it is the fastest mobile printer in existence. Other mobile printers can only print at speeds of five pages per minute. This speed is next to slow especially when you’re in a hurry. Being a salesman entails you to be very swift in your traveling. If somehow you need to create last minute printing tasks, then the speed that this printer can make, at 22 pages per minute, is certainly more than enough to accommodate your haste.

If speed and quality are not enough reasons for you to get this printer, then the lithium ion battery should be able to suffice that. This printer is equipped with a battery that can go on to print for 480 pages when fully charged. This number is equivalent to one short ream of paper. Though it is unlikely that you’ll be printing this much while you’re on the road, it certainly is a great asset for times when you don’t have access to electricity. Since you’re on the road most of the time, you can’t expect to have access to electrical outlets all the time.

The last reason why a salesman should get this printer is that it can complement the rest of his portable gadgets. Of course, salesmen have their laptops with them as well as PDAs and mobile phones. Most of these portable gadgets are already equipped with wireless features that can easily interface with other portable gadgets. This printer is one of those gadgets. It is equipped to interface with various connectivity such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi so that there will be no further need to rune extra installations just to run this printer. This printer is equipped to handle the most common file formats such as DOC and PDF. It is even capable of directly printing JPEGs.

The HP OfficeJet H470 is sure to be a great tool when you’re a salesman. So if you are, don’t hesitate to get one. It will certainly be a great investment.

If you are interested in taking your cake making the skills to the next level then you might want to look into getting a Cannon mp560 cake printer. Cake making these days are definitely not what they used to be. Shows like “Charm City Cakes” are taking the business of cake decorating to a completely new level. Who knew that that you could convert almost any printer into a printer that will print out edible images? The MP560 is one of the more popular printers that are used for this purpose. With this printer, you can print out professional quality pictures and it couldn’t be easier. These images are printed onto an edible icing sheet that can then be used in the decorating of your cakes.

This is huge for those who are not particularly good at drawing but love to decorate cakes. It allows them to create the cakes the way that they want to but at the same time giving them a professional quality they could otherwise not give them. The MP 560 can also be used as a normal printer. In order to make it into a printer that will print your edible images there are a few things that you need to do first. First, you need to purchase edible color cartridges. That way being that prints on your images is not going to harm the people to eat the cakes. Anything you’re going to want to do is instead of using paper you are going to want to purchase the edible icing sheets. These usually come in 25 per package and are the same size as a normal sheet of paper.

You can also purchase software that comes preinstalled with different images you might use and your decorations. The idea of being able to print onto these icing sheets is that you can spend less time doing tedious decorating and more time creating amazing looking cakes. Take that your clients will be proud to display at any engagement such as a birthday party, an anniversary party, a graduation party, or a wedding. These are some very important events in people’s lives and you want the quality of your work to match the importance of the milestones they are crossing.

With the Canon in MP560 cake printer, you are going to be able to take your creative decorating to a completely new level. The price to purchase this type of printer is going to cost you a little more because of the extra supplies you need to purchase to make it work for your purpose but in the long run you will see that it is well worth it. You can purchase this printer already set up as a cake printer with all the necessary additions to make it function or you can purchase the printer as just a printer and purchase the other items needed to make it function for cake decorating separately. If you buy it as a set, it will run you about $560, which is not much considering how drastically your business can expand from this one simple addition to your business.

When a Canon ip1800 paper jam is starting to wear you down and becoming too much to handle yourself, trying to find help with the problem is the best thing you can do so as not to make the problem any worse. While trying to figure out the problem yourself is for the most part quite simple, sometimes it can become a bigger job than initially anticipated. Sometimes, there is not even a jam at all and it is just the sensors picking up a change in the cartridge as jam.

First off, if the paper does indeed become jammed, the first instinct is to yank it out. This is the worst thing you can do with a paper jam. This is because when you pull on the paper, even if it does come out it is quite possible that a tiny little piece is retained within the printing heads. This can cause bad quality printing in the future as well as the heads themselves becoming stuck days, weeks or even months later after you have forgotten about the paper jam. If the heads become stuck, it can shut down the entire printer and you would never know why because the paper is so small you cannot see it and you have forgotten about the jam problem.

Instead of pulling on the paper, here is what you want to do. Power off the printer and unplug the cord connecting it to the computer. Lift up the printer cover so you can see the print heads and the roller bar. If necessary, unsnap the ink cartridges so you can see underneath. Usually, if there is a little piece of paper stick, or is a corner of the paper is turned up, this is where you will find it. With the print cover up and the cartridges out, you can see exactly where the paper is stuck and work it out piece by piece without tearing it.

If there is no paper inside the printer but you receive a paper jam message after you changed the ink cartridges, you may need to reset the sensors. If this is the case, then power off the printer and unplug the cable from the computer. Unplug the power cord from the wall to cut the power off from the device completely. Wait at least five to 10 minutes and plug the cord back in and reconnect it to the computer. The device should reset itself and move the print heads back into place.

There are numerous reasons why a printer’s paper may become jammed from time to time. These two reasons are the most common and the most easily fixed as well. Whatever you do, if you come across a Canon ip1800 paper jam, do not tug on the paper or you could make the jam even worse than before and not even know it for months.

Printing documents, photos and other such items is now an important part of many people’s lives; this means that they need a printer. There are a plethora of different designs and styles that are available on today’s market. The Canon ip 100 printer is amongst the best on offer. There are a number of features that make it a firm favorite with many shoppers.

The design that the Canon ip 100 printer has, sets it apart from many of its competitors. It has a lovely matte silver color throughout, and all of the edges are curved. They also hold a black trim; this gives the printer a classy look. As the printer is portable the lid and tray fold away neatly, this makes it extremely easy to transport around. If you have a relatively large laptop bag, this printer should fit easily into it. This removes the need to buy a special bag for it.

For a portable printer, the print quality that the ip 100 has is excellent. The lettering is invariably flawless. When printing photos, as many of you will do with this printer, the quality is also superb. This is especially so on the 4 X 6 and the 8 X 10 images, I have used it for both personally. It truly is the perfect way to attain your family images, while on the move.

Many of the competitors to the ip 100 are slow, and laborious with their printing. The ip 100 is far from slow, in fact, it is fast, and it has the ability to print out a full page from word in less than 15 seconds. This is fast for any printer, but especially so for a portable one.

There are a number of ways for you to relay your pictures to the printer. If you have a PictBridge capable camera, which I would imagine a lot of you do, you can simply connect your camera straight into the printer, and print off your pictures immediately. If not you can transfer them through the IrDA infrared feature, both are equally as fast. If you fancy spending a little extra, you can obtain a Bluetooth device for around $50.

If you desire a printer that can give you the capability to gain good quality images, and typed pages while on the move, then there really is no better choice. The Canon ip 100 printer is available at the large majority of your high street stores. It can however be purchased online too. Here you will generally find lower prices for the product. If you have the time it is always best to shop around as much as you can, this ensures that you attain the very best price you can. I am sure that you would all do this anyway.
