Customer Feedback for the HP 6500 Printer

HP 6500 Officejet PrinterLet’s take a look at some customer ratings for the HP 6500 Printer. Overall, 58% of consumers have been more than satisfied with this product. That’s far from the highest I’ve seen, but it’s also far from the lowest. Since the features and performance stats for this model are pretty impressive, I had to dig into the reviews to see why the numbers weren’t higher. The one thing that was repeated many times was that this model stood on the slow side. Considering the speed numbers were max 31 ppm black and 30-ppm color, this came as a little bit of a surprise. Those are great speed stats for an all-in-one inkjet.
The reason I said it came as ‘a little bit of a surprise’ is because these stats are always based on optimal settings, which many consumers aren’t aware of.

The only other negative that seemed to drive the ratings down was noise. Ironically, this model isn’t too noisy while printing. It’s the pre and post-print stages that irk people. Therefore, if you’re in a setting where people will be bothered by ‘whir, click, gurr, shoosh,’ you might want to consider a different printer.

While the above paragraphs has a negative tone, that’s as negative as it’s going to get for the HP 6500 Printer. With most models, I can go on and on about negatives. With this model, the only other potential negative is that there’s a two-line text display opposed to a color LCD display. And it’s only a potential negative because some printers don’t have a display at all.

Let’s get to the breakdown of the ratings. Keep in mind that these numbers are based on a sampling of 169 people. 45 of those people gave this model the highest rating possible, which is 5 stars. 53 people gave it 4 stars. 19 people gave it 3 stars. 19 people gave it 2 stars. 33 people gave it 1 star. Numbers like these are not often seen. In most cases, the numbers are either mostly toward the top or mostly toward the bottom. The 6500 is one of those rare love/hate situations. Fortunately, there’s a lot more love than hate.
