Various printers are made for specific purposes. When you hear portable photo printers, you have this image of small printers that are meant for only printing pictures. However, portable photo printers can do more than just print photos. As Home Printers
Many individuals make use of these portable photo printers as home printers. Some of them are capable of printing in Letter and Legal size pages, which makes them very adequate for home printing needs. The additional capability to print photos just becomes the additional advantage. However, for this to be an effective home printer, it must be capable of printing in large papers. So if you’re getting a portable photo printer, make sure it has this option. Some portable photo printers in the market can only print in 6” x 4” size papers and are meant for printing on photo paper.
Despite being meant for portable use, they still make good home printers because you do not need a lot of space in order to work this printer. Some printers can even fit inside your drawers so you can easily store them. It is important to store them properly so that you can prolong their use. If you have a wireless router within your network, you can set this up as a network printer. If this is the case, then you don’t have to allocate space for these printers since they are very small and you can place them wherever you deem comfortable.
Aside from the Wi-Fi interface, modern portable photo printers are equipped with various wireless interfaces such as Bluetooth and Infrared. With this feature, you can directly print pictures or even documents without the need for a computer. If you have a PictBridge camera, then you can just print pictures directly from your camera. This is very convenient especially for those people who are always in a hurry, although, Bluetooth will somehow be the more preferred interface since it operates faster than infrared.
The name portable photo printers may just be made to target a specific market, which is the market of photographers. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that these printers are only for photographers.
