Network laser printers do not come cheap. Therefore, in every way possible, you need to make sure that it lasts as long. Consumer electronics normally have a lifespan of 5 years. Keep Them Clean

Keep Them Grounded
Not a lot of people are probably aware but you need to keep your network printers properly grounded or you could keep them away from materials that easily build up static discharge like cotton or wool. Excess charges have the ability to ruin your prints especially if you need your prints to be perfectly clean. The reason behind this is that laser printers use electron charges in order to transfer the toner to the paper. Supposing there are stray electrons that get inside your printer, it can cause lightening of prints or streaking along the page.

Mind the Temperature
Laser printers work by transferring the dry ink toner into the paper by changing the polarity of the drum. In order for the ink to stick to the paper, it needs to be heated at a certain temperature in order to fuse with paper. This temperature sometimes makes the room uncomfortable. Aside from that, it can also cause some warping in your merchandise. Even though your printer is designed to take that amount of heat, the additional heat from the surroundings may gradually make it unbearable for some of the parts. So as a precaution, it is better to keep these machines in a well ventilated room or have some decent air-conditioning.

Use the Recommended Supplies
People tend to look for cheaper alternatives to the supplies when they run out of stuff like paper or toner. Unfortunately, buying supplies from third party manufacturers may not always lead to the same quality of output. Although there are some that are able to provide the same material, more often, the rest may lead to the deterioration of your network laser printer. You may think that you are getting a bargain, however, the shortening of your printer’s lifespan would mean that you‘d have to purchase another set of printer.
