HP Deskjet 310 Printer for Personal Use

Are you in the market for a new printer? How about a used printer? Or maybe you want an old model printer that is selling for a cheap price? Whatever the case may be, it’s important to do as much homework as possible prior to purchasing. The first thing you have to decide is if you want new or used. Your best option value-wise will probably be an older model that is still selling new. You will be getting a lot of good features at a discounted price. Then you have to decide on a brand name. There are a lot of quality brands out there, but going with hp or Canon is always a good idea. In this case, we will be reviewing the hp deskjet 310.

The first thing that needs to be pointed out about this review and the deskjet 310 is that there isn’t a lot of information for it online. Unless you’re looking for accessories, you’re going to have a lot of trouble finding features and good deals. As a matter of fact, the best deal I could find was for $255, which is way overpriced. That said, if you really dig deep, you should be able to find this model for prices close to the 300 and 340, which will be around $100 new and $50 used. I would also like to stress that the majority of the information below is based on this model’s close relatives’ features. They are very educated guesses; however, they are not factual.

The hp deskjet 310 can print between 3 and 5 pages per minute, regardless if it’s black or color. In case you’re not aware of what these numbers mean, it’s extremely slow. To help you relate, it would be like waiting 30 seconds for your TV to warm-up prior to watching. While the picture might be good, do you really want to have to wait? Probably not. That said, there are still some good features for the 310. One is that it’s extremely easy to set-up and use, making it a great starter printer. As far as quality goes, you will get resolution around 600 x 600 dpi. If you photo paper, those numbers will increase to 1200 x 600 dots per inch. These numbers are average at best.

There are a few negatives for the hp deskjet 310. One is that you will have to buy the USB cable separately. This doesn’t sit well with most customers. Many of them aren’t even aware of this until they return home and realize they can’t use the technology they just bought. Not cool, hp. Not cool at all. Another negative – and a common one amongst most printers – is high ink consumption. Whether this is really a negative is debatable, considering almost every printer on the market consumes ink as if dying of thirst. This model is also noisy, which will eliminate it from being a good fit in certain settings.

User Review #1: This is the first printer I have ever owned. I’m only 15 so I don’t know much about printers. I can’t really compare. Maybe that’s a good thing when writing a review? Anyway, it prints what I need and it prints it well. I don’t know how good the quality is, all I know is that the text is very readable. I would recommend it.

User Review #2: The key here is to only buy this printer if you can get it for cheap. And don’t expect fast prints. You might as well take a nap if you ask for more than one copy. The quality is good enough.
