The hp deskjet 3320 is a good for printer for beginners to consider. It’s also a good option for those who are on a tight budget. You will be getting good quality based on the price you’re paying; however, durability is a concern. That’s an issue we will cover in more detail below. For now, let’s check out the hp deskjet 3320’s features.

The deskjet 3320 can reach resolution up to 1200 x 600 dpi if you use photo paper. This isn’t even close to what you can get with most other printers today. That said, most printers today that offer excellent quality cost over $300. As far as speed goes, the 3320 can produce 6 pages per minute and 8 pages per minute if you’re using an optional black cartridge. Once again, this is very slow by today’s standards.

There are a few benefits to using printers that are a few years old. One of those benefits is ease of use, as well as how easy they are to setup. If you’re looking for simplicity, this is definitely a printer to consider. This model is PC and Mac compatible, which is an obvious plus. There is only one interface, though, which is USB. Not only that, but you must purchase the USB cable separately. This is the case with many printers, so it’s not too big of a deal.

The hp deskjet 3320 only weighs about 2 lbs, making it very easy to travel with. It has an ink level indicator and a print cancel feature. Past that, don’t expect too much in terms of features. As stated earlier, this machine is all about simplicity. If you’d like to hear about negatives for this model, there are a few to cover.

Before we even begin with the negatives, let’s review customer ratings. Seven customers rated this model a 5. Eight customers rated it a 4. Three customers rated it a 3. Two customers rated it a 2. And … twenty-eight customers rated it a 1. Needless to say, customer satisfaction is not very high. So, the question is ‘why.’ One expected reason is high ink consumption. Ink cartridges will only last about 220 pages. This model also only ships with one cartridge, even though it’s built for color and black usage. In addition to that, it’s a noisy machine, and ‘out of paper’ errors will appear when you’re not out of paper.

User Review #1: I have figured out hp’s strategy. Since I have bought two printers from them in the past five years and they both fell apart soon after the warranty expired, I think they know how long a model will last and only build it strong enough to last past the warranty. Conspiracy theory? I don’t think so.

User Review #2: If you’re a high school or college student, then this is a good printer for you. If you’re anyone else to walk this Earth, keep looking. It’s easy to use, but there are too many problems to deal with, even for the price.

The hp deskjet 3320 is best suited for someone who hasn’t owned a printer before. It’s cheap and gets the job done. Since it will only perform at its peak level for about six months, you can look at it as a training machine before moving on to bigger and better things.
