HP DeskJet 3915 – Advantage of New Printers
If you’re looking for a used printer, there are a lot of options. One of the best ideas is to get a printer that’s only a few years old. This way, you will still get the used price tag, but also advanced features. In many cases, these printers can complete with the printers on the market today. That said, there are still going to be high and low quality models. We will be reviewing the hp deskjet 3915. This is an interesting model because if you exclude one negative, it’s an excellent printer. However, that one negative does exist. Therefore, it’s up to you to decide if this will be a worthwhile investment. Let’s cover the positives first.

The hp deskjet 3915 sells for around $80 new and $40 used. However, these numbers can vary. As far as quality goes, the 3915 can reach resolution up to 1200 dots per inch black/white and 4800 x 1200 dots per inch color. When it comes to speed, it can print 14 pages per minute black/white and 10 pages per minute color. While the speed isn’t spectacular, the quality is very solid. If you’re looking for a printer for home use, then speed shouldn’t be too much of a concern anyway.
There are many features for the deskjet 3915. The first thing that needs to be mentioned is the onscreen menu. From there, you will be able to select from five different print modes. You can base the print mode on what you’re looking for. These print modes include Fast Draft, Fast Normal, Normal, Best, and Max dpi. This might sound confusing now, but once you get used to it, you will see that it’s a great time-saving and quality-saving feature. With the deskjet 3915, you can print 4 x 6 inch borderless photos and up to 8.5 x 11 inch photos with borders.
One of the best attributes for the deskjet 3915 is that it’s very compact and only weighs 4.5 lbs. This will allow you to store it almost anywhere. You can also travel with it. The front-loading input tray can hold up to 80 sheets and folds up, allowing for even more room.
There are a few negatives for the hp deskjet 3915. One is that it consumes ink fast. If you print moderately, you should expect to make a change once per week. If you buy new, you will receive a color ink cartridge, but not a black ink cartridge. Another negative is that that the USB cable does not come with your purchase. You must buy it separately. If you’re buying used, this shouldn’t be an issue. The biggest negative is the feeder. The paper feed has a tendency to pull more than one sheet at a time. You will also have little chance of printing envelopes or labels at a fast pace. You will need to insert them one by one if you want quality prints.
User Review #1: I just use this printer for college papers. I haven’t had trouble with paper jams. Maybe it’s because I just use plain paper. I have no idea. All I can say is that it’s quiet and it prints my papers with excellent quality, so I’m happy with it.
User Review #2: I don’t actually own the 3915. My friend owns a work-from-home business which I’m the only employee of. We have been using the 3915 for a few weeks. We only bought it because it was cheap. And ‘cheap’ is the key word here. Whenever we print with plain paper everything works great. Once we stick something else in, all hell breaks loose. Plan accordingly.
