HP DeskJet D2560 – One of the Better Models

The Hp DeskJet D2560 is one of the better models in the DeskJet series. Don’t take my word for it, just look at the customer ratings. Over 85% of people who own this printer have been more than satisfied with it. Those are excellent numbers. Of course, we have to figure out why customers have been so pleases with this model. There are many possibilities, but the first thing you should be aware of is that this printer is best suited for those with an interest in photography and/or high quality photo prints.

The HP DeskJet D2560 sells for around $165 refurbished and $35 used. Needless to say, if you’d like to save a good deal of money, go the used route. You should only buy refurbished (or new if you can find it) if this printer is important to your business and you want to ensure that everything is in tip-top condition. Yes, refurbished gets a bad rap. They’re often as good as new. There’s just one thing to keep in mind if you buy new or refurbished. You’re already spending $165 and that’s not even where the real expense comes in. The most money you will spend on a printer is on ink, which is no different for the D2560, especially considering it focuses on high quality prints.

When it comes to quality, the D2560 can reach resolution up to 600 dots per inch for black and white text. For full color photos, it can reach resolution up to 4800 x 1200 dpi. The former is nothing special, but you don’t buy this printer for high quality text. The latter is high quality. For speed, the D2560 can print up to 26 pages per minute black and 20 pages per minute color. This is slightly above average and especially impressive for a quality-focused printer. The D2560 has an 80-sheet input tray (below average) and a 10-envelope media tray (very unique). There is also an option for two-sided printing; if you’re going with the D2560, this most likely isn’t a big concern for you, but it’s still nice to know it’s available. The D2560 can print 4 x 6-inch borderless photos as well as images as large as 8.5 x 30 inches. In addition to that, there is a print-cancel button, which allows you to cancel a print right away. It’s a simple feature that can often come in handy.

There are only a few negatives for the hp deskjet D2560. The biggest negative – and one that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who is familiar with hp deskjet printers – is that the USB cable doesn’t come with the printer. What makes this really bad is that they don’t inform you of this when you purchase the machine. This has led to many people arriving home and looking forward to (or needing to) using their new printer, only to be denied. The good news is that if you buy used, this most likely won’t be a concern. The seller will usually have this item. This printer is also louder than most. Of course, whether this is a negative or not will depend on its location. The final negative is one that has been complained about by several customers, but is really a negative for any hp printer. That negative is poor customer service. Hp can make some great printers, but their customer service has an awful reputation.

User Review #1: I’m a blossoming photographer (hopefully), and this printer has been a part of my journey. It’s easy to use and produces high quality prints. The speed is also pretty good, which allows me to get more work done in a shorter period of time. I would recommend this printer to others.

User Review #2: If you want large photos with great quality, then this is the printer to get. I’ve owned it for nearly three years and it has been extremely reliable. The only bad thing is that it’s a little loud, but it’s still well worth it.
