Only one of these three simple features offers something past the ordinary. The print-cancel button will allow you to stop a print in its tracks. This model also has a low-ink level indicator, which can also help you save time, money and paper. You can also add stress to this list.
HP Smart Web Printing will allow you to combine content from many web pages onto one. You can also conserve print supplies by clipping content from many web pages. In addition to that, Original HP Inks are designed to work specifically with your printer, which will increase quality.
When it comes to speed, the HP Deskjet D2660 can print up to 28 pages per minute in black and 21 pages per minute in color. A 4” x 6” color photo with border prints in approximately 26 seconds. These numbers are above average. These outputs are achieved at print resolutions of up to 600 dpi in black, and up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi from 1200 dpi input data (on photo paper). Like most printers, there are certain issues users had experienced with the HP Deskjet D2660. One of those issues is paper jams, which really is a common problem with almost any type of printer. It can often be avoided by putting less than the recommended amount of paper into the input tray.
Another negative is pop-ups. An HP Solutions window will pop up every time you use the printer. It’s easy to close, but still a nuisance. Customers have also reported that the D2660 has a defective on/off switch. One customer had to resort to using the plug in order to turn the printer on and off.
Other downsides are it does not have memory card support or automatic paper type sensor; it does not have networking or wireless capability; its poor photo quality prints, and the short 90-day warranty.
Needless to say, between the pop-ups and the defective on/off switch, the D2660 definitely comes with some potential issues. Whether these issues are worth dealing with or not is up to you.
The good news is that the ink cartridges aren’t that expensive compared to other printers in the DeskJet series. One customer also recommended to make sure you custom install when you get it as this will help avoid a lot of problems.
