HP DeskJet F4480 – Yet Another Customer Favorite

I always enjoy doing a review for a model that delivers in a big way. The Hp DeskJet F4480 is one of those printers. Before we get to all the good stuff, let’s first go over how much it will cost you. The HP Deskjet F4480 Inkjet All-in-One Printer. If you’re looking to buy a new model, it will cost around $90. The prices for used models can vary but around $40.

Many Features

The Hp DeskJet F4480 is an-all-one printer that is capable of printing, scanning and copying. It comes with a plethora of features, but we’ll focus on the most important ones. Prior to getting to those features, let’s go over some stats.

The F4480 can print up to 28 pages per minute black and 22 pages per minute color. It can also produce a 4 x 6 inch borderless print in 29 seconds. These are very impressive numbers. The scanning and copying functions on the F4480 work very well. They actually deliver more than you would expect.

Resolution on scans can reach as high as 1200 x 2400 dots per inch. You will also be able to scan documents as large as 8.5 x 11.7 inches. When it comes to copying, you will be able to make up to nine copies at once and reduce and increase the size of those copies from 25% and 200%.

The F4480 offers HP Smart Web Printing, which will allow you to take content from several pages and print it all onto one page. There will be an 80-sheet input tray, which is average size for an all-in-one. An ink-level indicator will help prevent you from ending up in a bad situation.

That said, it’s always wise to buy HP 60 Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging, Combo Pack and HP 60XL Black Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging online so you can save money and have ink on-hand. The color cartridge is HP 60XL Tri-color Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging.

With the F4480, you can make prints from borderless size to panorama. Maximum borderless size is 8.5 x 11 inches. If you’re into saving money, time and paper, you can take advantage of the paper-saving print option. This will print on both sides of the paper.

There are only two real negatives for the HP DeskJet 4480. One is that it doesn’t come with a USB cable. If you’re familiar with HP DeskJet printers, this should come as no surprise. However, if you’re not familiar with HP DeskJet printers, then this is something you should be aware of prior to purchasing. Another negative is that this model doesn’t run as smoothly with Mac. Other than these two issues, this is one of Hp’s finest models.

The HP DeskJet F4480 is an extraordinary machine. In addition to offering top of the line quality and speed, it’s also made from 50% recycled plastic and qualifies for Energy Star.

Newer Model

The HP DeskJet F4480 has since been superseded by the HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer. In draft mode. it prints at 20ppm black and 16ppm color.

It has a 60-sheet input tray 25-sheet output tray. It can perform wireless printing. It is good for Paper (brochure, inkjet, plain), envelopes, labels, greeting cards, transparencies and performs to its maximum when you use HP Advanced photo paper.

You can pick up a new model of the 3050 for around $70 or the Hewlett Packard 3050A Wireless All-in-One Color Photo Printer which I found online for around $55 plus $10 shipping.

The HP 61 Black Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging are easily available on Amazon as well as HP 61 Tri-Color Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging.

Budget Models

All the above listed all in ones are budget models. If multifunction is not a requirement then a budget model choice could be the HP Deskjet 3000 Printer with Wi-Fi connectivity with speeds of 20ppm black and 16ppm color. It produces perfectly good quality documents in black and color and can be found at the incredible price of around $33. Again, this model uses HP61 ink cartridges.

Yet another all in one choice for the photo lover that is made affordable by Canon is the PIXMA MP495 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One that features a full HD Movie Print software which captures HD movie clips. It uses the ChromaLife 100+ system, has auto fix, wireless LAN, borderless 4” x 6” photo printing at a resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi. All this is great value for just over $50.

Your choices in low budget models are endless. Consider the Canon MP280 Photo Printer, Scanner and Copier which can scan and copy and is a photo printer. This again has HD Movie Print software, Auto Fix, a maximum of 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution, and is amazing value at under $40.

The ink cartridges for this model are the Canon PG-210XL Cartridge (Black) in Retail Packaging and Canon CL-211 XL Cartridge (Color). For budget models you are spoilt for choice with HP.
