Are you tired of the standard issue beige or gray printer? Look at the dazzling, stylish, compact and affordable Samsung ML-1630 Monochrome Laser Printer. Samsung do have a habit of making very attractive and sleek looking compact printers, and the Samsung ML-1630 certainly is a very attractive and stylish printer and is also compact with dimensions of 13.07” W x 4.78” H x 14.76” D so tradition has not changed there as it’s a nice looking little printer, very much in the mould of how Samsung designs many of their models.
Performance
It is a great performing printer with a quick printing speed, crisp and clear text, and is a very quiet machine. Samsung also tend to have that habit also of making their printers quiet as that is an asset remarked upon in a good many cases with a lot of their printers.
It is created with smaller print jobs in mind and is ideal for printing at home; it serves well for the occasional usage of print needs required by family members, students and for the home office. It looks great on any desk and will add some glamour to your desk.
This small sized printer has a paper tray that has a 100-sheet semi-auto sliding cassette; with the input and output tray holding 30 sheets face up. It is excellent for home users, students and as a family printer. The actual speed of this little sleek machine is 17ppm for letter sized prints.
From stand by, it will print out the first document in around 15 seconds and the resolution is 1200 x 600 dpi which is fine for a home printer and it results in a crisp and clear legible print.

There are no thrills with this little printer. It’s a printer with no wireless or duplexing and very few features. The power button is small and located at the back of the machine making it a little awkward for powering up and down.
The duty cycle is surprisingly high for a home printer. Not exactly up to business standard but with a cycle of 5000 printed pages a month that’s fairly impressive.
Now, here comes the slightly disappointing news. Maybe because it is discontinued by Samsung, this small printer is perhaps a little overpriced especially when you consider the lack of features. The Samsung ML-1630 Monochrome Laser Printer is under $260 which could be seen by some as a little high but it is a very nice and simple to use model with few problems with the quality of the prints.
The ink is a simple single black toner is available on Amazon using Samsung Toner Cartridge 2K Yield for around $63.

Current Samsungs
Looking through what is currently available on the Samsung site you will observe some terrific printers at low prices and even lower if you look around at sites such as Amazon. The Samsung ML-2525 Monochrome Laser Printer is currently available on Amazon for under $100.
Again it’s compact and a greater speed this time of 24ppm and a 9-second first print out time from ready mode. The resolution is up to 1200 x 600dpi. Again its legal size as the maximum and you can manually duplex. It has a generous input tray of 250 sheet cassette and 1 sheet manual Tray 80 sheet face down, 1 sheet face up.
Not quite the beauty contest winner that the ML-1630 is but none the less still attractive and stylish as well as compact weighing a mere 16.09 lbs and measuring 14.2″ W x 15.3″D x 7.8″H.
It uses Samsung MLT-D105L Toner Cartridge which are available on Amazon for under $70.
You can also have an option to be wireless with Ethernet and wireless connectivity by purchasing the Samsung ML-2525W Wireless Mono Laser Printer which is somewhat more at under $170.
Samsung Color Laser Printers
Color laser printers from Samsung are very reasonably priced and the Samsung Color Laser Printer (CLP-325W). With speeds of 17ppm black and 4ppm color it may be a little slow for some but a quality color laser printer like this for under $125 on Amazon is a terrific buy. With a resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi maximum and the ability to get connected within a wireless network, I think you may agree that this is quite a find at this price.
It has a 130-sheet cassette input tray capacity and 80-sheet face down output capacity, can manually duplex and maximum capacity size of 8.5 x 14″. As with most Samsungs, it is quiet and stylish.
The toner is available on Amazon where the Samsung Black Toner Cartridge can be found for under $55 and the 3 color toner cartridges also with Samsung Cyan, Magenta and Yellow Toner Cartridges are priced between $40 and $50 per cartridge.
If a beauty contest was held for printers, many Samsung printers would be bursting into tears with joy and announced as winners. They do take care with the design and many a Samsung would catch your eye. Not such an established manufacturer in printers as the big 3 of course but none the less Samsung is producing printers of note with a fair range and often very affordable. Take time to look through Samsung’s offerings as they are well worth consideration.
