Use Black and Colored Separately
If you’re running low on black ink, fill it up immediately. If you don’t, the printer will utilize all three colors from the color cartridge in order to form a blend of black. Aside from losing a lot of color printer ink, the black produced by combining the colors is lighter than the black produced from black ink cartridges. Aside from that, if you’re using ordinary paper to print on, there is a tendency for the paper to curl due to the excess liquids.
Don’t Wait Until It Dries

Aside from providing color to the printer, the ink inside the ink cartridges also acts as a coolant to the print heads. The moment the cartridge dries up, you may be subjecting your print head with excess heat that can destroy your print head. So if you’re printing photos and professional documents, make sure you set it at high resolutions. However, if you’re only printing drafts, or recipes for home use, save up on ink by lowering your resolution.
