It may all seem a little too obvious an answer but the simple answer is because it is an excellent Portable photo printer. Of all the manufacturers of printers out there, only 2 manufacturers stand out as being the makers of good quality portable photo printers, HP and Canon.
There are numerous articles online comparing the 2 and it’s a close call between the 2. Hp being the maker of the HP h470 series is the only serious challenge. Although it’s hard to declare a winner on all round ability, for print quality the Canon iP100 takes the price.
High regard
It is fair to say that this model from Canon has had some very high praise generally in reviews whether from user reviews or professional photo printer reviews. This printer will print out very good quality pictures and it is extremely portable. It is a lot of functionality packed in to a very small package. The pictures are described to be very realistic and the quality is the best feature among the many for this printer.
Its Strengths
Canon is ahead of the game with innovation and on this model, they use 1,856 precession nozzles which ejects droplets of ink as small as 1 picoliter as well as the 5-color ink system which combined brings amazing realism to your photographs as well as accuracy and crisp color and black text.

Some may find this a little expensive but to be fully portable and such excellent print quality from a mobile isn’t too bad at all for $330.
What the Reviews Say
Out of 148 user reviews on Amazon 118 gave a 5 or 4 star rating to this model. That’s a very high approval rating.
There are of course some complaints like some claim it paper grabs more sheets than it should and a more common complaint is the absence of a carrying case, but in the main many love this portable photo printer and the quality of photographs printed on it are a major aspect of these users’ experience.
Many that appreciate its qualities have written some lengthy reviews and it is noticeable that it is highly thought of by many. Professional reviewers are more often kind to it also and the main criticism seems to be the price as regards the professional reviewers.
They may have a point but finding one cheaper online helps ease the blow. But the complaints about price I feel are a little harsh. I suspect the 118 reviewers that gave it one or 4 or 5 stars are not complaining either.
Many have praised its easy set up and ease of use. As a portable printer goes I don’t think that 20ppm black and 14ppm color is slow but as the HP h470 is quicker then inevitably that comparison is made. But the HP does not come up to the same standard with the prints. In all this is an excellent portable mobile photo printer and the reason it’s so well reviewed is because many like it. Can’t think of a better endorsement for a model than that.
